Each-Way Calculator

The Each-Way Calculator handles the dual-bet structure used in UK, Irish, and Australian horse racing: half your stake goes on the horse to win, the other half goes on it to place (typically finish in the top 2 to 5 depending on the race). The Place portion pays at a fraction of the win odds — usually 1/4 or 1/5 — and you can adjust the number of places and the place fraction independently to match the specific race terms.

Enter the odds (American / Decimal / Fractional all supported), the stake, the finishing position, and the calculator instantly settles both halves and reports the total return. Toggle Each-Way off to settle as a straight win-only bet.

The screen also includes full Rule 4 (Tattersalls Rule 4(c)) support: when a horse is withdrawn after final declarations, BHA mandates a deduction from winnings on the remaining horses, scaled by the SP of the withdrawn horse. The calculator's quick-add input lets you paste the SP of the non-runner; it looks up the correct deduction bracket (5p, 10p, 15p, 20p, 25p, 30p, 35p, 40p, 45p, 55p, 65p, 75p, 80p, 85p, 90p) and applies it automatically.
